Ku Klux Klan member Thomas Stevens was arrested after shooting George Zimmerman at a McDonald’s parking lot in Alabama after Zimmerman reportedly began talking to a dozen kids in the play area.
Stevens claimed it was in self-defense after Zimmerman showed off his gun in his waistband and made threatening comments.
The altercation occurred when Zimmerman left the fast food restaurant and Stevens was angry he had been talking to his children. A fight quickly broke out when Stevens saw a gun strapped to Zimmerman’s hip and Stevens took out his concealed gun, shooting Zimmerman 4 times in the chest.
Shoppers in the parking lot called 911 and police showed up. Stevens gave himself up immediately without incident.
“He looked like an illegal to me,” Stevens told police. “I’m not going to let them push me or my kids around.”
Stevens has not yet been charged as police investigate the manner, but he is in jail. Zimmerman was sent to a local hospital where he is in critical condition but the bullets failed to hit any vital organs.
“The guy was looking at kids weird and thought he was planning something,” said Stevens “I still think he was. I know he was.”
His wife Samantha told local reporters, “That creep (Zimmerman) was trying to get our kids phone numbers to text. Tom was obviously very upset about it. He has a gun for protection, and that’s what he used it for.
“I didn’t know who the guy was. Looked like a Mexican alien to me. Good riddance. Trump is right about them. They will rape and kill us all.”
