The Chicago Aviation Department (CAD) is reporting the Chicago Cubs baseball team private plane had a minor crash during landing at O’Hare International Airport early Tuesday morning at 3:12 am Central Time. Emergency vehicles were quick to assess the accident.

The left wing of the aircraft hit the ground as the pilot landed with terrifying cross winds. The front tires then burst, causing the plane to come to a sparking halt. “The cross winds were worse than Wrigley Field,” said pilot Rick Bartman. “But we made it. Just needs a little paint job.”

The players barely noticed after partying on the way back from San Francisco after winning the post-season series after a 6-5 comeback win in the 9th inning. “It was nerve-wracking,” said Cubs manager Joe Maddon. “But nothing compared to the last two nights. I’ll take this any day, just not again until after the World Series.”

No one was hurt and the players laughed it off. “I guess the curse is over,” laughed pitcher Jason Grimm. The curses over the years were really just bad management and poor hitting, but the legend lives on in Chicago. Cubs President is credited with breaking the Boston Red Sox curse and called the plane crash “pretty exciting” and “It’s great to feel alive. If we can beat that, we can beat any baseball team.”

The team then partied on top of the plane for an hour until the wheels were fixed and their wives and girlfriends made them go home.

The Cubs wait to play the winner of the Dodgers/Nationals game on Thursday. Until then, the team will continue to do what they did during the regular season. The Cubs are trying to break a 108 year World Series drought.

Kyle Schwarber was annoyed the rough landing spilled a bit of his beer. “First time I’ve ever spilt a beer,” he said.
