Martin Shkreli Buys Dog Saving Cancer Drug And Raises Price 5,000%

martin shkreli-2One of the only dog saving cancer drugs is about to become a lot more expensive. Martin Shkreli, who recently bought a human saving cancer drug and raised the price, is at it again but now profiting from dogs.

“Dogs are a great market for me,” Shkreli told The Wall Street Journal. “People will pay anything to save their stupid dog. It’s insane. I saw an opportunity to make stupid money and jumped at the opportunity. I’d be insane not to do it.”

The drug, Carboplantin Lomustine, cures bone cancer is most dogs. It was selling for $33 a pill, now it’s $16,500 a pill.

“People have an irrational attachment to their dogs so I can charge whatever I want. Plus, I don’t have to deal with insurance companies, so I really have the dog owners by the balls,” said Shkreli. “This has been a great year for me. Made so much money, it’s been sweet.”

Shkreli has been assembling a fleet of yachts to sail around the world and still needs three more yachts for his ‘armada.’ “What happens if you come across some pirates? The armada will blow them to way. That would be so awesome.”

Leveraging a life-saving drug is nothing new for Shkreli. “If you love your dog, you have to pay me to keep it alive, and that’s why I’m a good businessman. Dependence is the best type of business plan.”
