A week after GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson told a rally that the Holocaust wouldn’t have happened if the Jews were armed with guns to defend themselves against the Nazis.
Today, the former neurosurgeon took it one step further saying, “Jesus would still be alive today if he had a gun before being crucified.”
Dr. Carson, speaking to a group of donors in Hillkneck, Alabama, continued with his views on gun-control. “When the Jews were beating our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, don’t you think a gun would have helped?” asked Carson. “He never would have then been captured by the Romans and crucified after the initial Jew beating if he had a gun. He would have justly fought off the people trying to kill him. If he had a gun against persons with swords, who do you think would win?
“That’s just common sense.”
The crowd erupted with applause from the soft-spoken doctor turned politician. Chants of “Give Jesus a gun!” and “Carson 15!” were heard several blocks away.
A concerned local citizen who was on his lunch break asked reports outside, “Do his supporters know the election is next year, in 2016, not this November?”
But the speech continued with Carson giving his passionate a stable ending. “If Jesus had a gun it would have changed the course of history. Can you imagine?”
