While speaking to a group of middle schoolers in New Hampshire, Republican candidate Ben Carson declared, “Masturbating will make you blind.”
An old wive’s tale meant to scare children decades ago seemed inappropriate for this type of venue, but Carson continued. “It’s my belief after careful thought and consideration that pleasuring oneself too frequently will in fact cause you to go blind. I have plenty of anecdotal information.
“It almost happened to me when I was young, but I was fortunate that our Lord intervened and saved me from myself. I still wonder if I would need these glasses if I hadn’t masturbated so often as a teenager.”
The purpose of the visit to Milford Middle School was to inform students of the electoral process and why voting is important when you reach the legal voting age of 18. It was during a quick ‘question and answer’ segment that Carson went off on his masturbation tangent.
Teachers at the school were concerned about Carson telling students inaccurate information about their bodies and health.
Sex educational teacher Jared Folgerman told the New Hampshire Free Press, “I couldn’t believe what he was saying. I even asked a fellow teacher if what I heard was what he said. He did.
“Not only did it not answer the child’s questions about healthcare reform but it was very inappropriate. We were disturbed by the whole thing.
“Donald Trump is going to seem like the normal Republican candidate when he comes to visit the school next week. God help us.”
