In reality, a Turkish jet shot down a Russian jet over Turkey’s airspace. This story was miscommunicated to the former Alaskan Governor, Sarah Palin, by an assistant.
“It’s a liberal media ploy to get people to not eat turkey on Thanksgiving, America’s birthday,” wrote Palin. “Shame on them for once again, trying to destroy America from within. I call for everyone to eat twice as much turkey this year to show them we won’t bow down to anti-American rhetoric.”
Palin then promised her subscription readers that she would get to the bottom of this turkey conspiracy and its perpetrators would be unveiled and brought to justice.
“I’ve shot thousands of turkeys ant one has ever shot back. That’s a fact.”
