In a potential public relationship nightmare for the new Star Wars film, there are reports of a ‘penis watermark’ showing in the film halfway through on the screen’s top left corner. Some people might miss it, but others said it was very apparent.

As many as 2,000 of the 6,000 screens could be showing the ‘penis watermark.’ Four facilities made all the theater copies and one large shipment had been reporting the troubling penis watermark. Only about 10% have noticed the watermark on screens showing it.

“Yep, that was penis during the lightsaber fight,” Bill Freeman told the Chicago Tribune. “It was a big screen and I know a penis when I see it.”

“It only lasted ten seconds, but it was there,” said Freeman. “At first, I thought another lightsaber was entering the battle but it definitely wasn’t.”

Moviegoers had mixed reactions. Some thought it was funny; some thought it distracted them from the movie, and a few parents were obviously upset.

“The film was great. The penis was not,” Susy Fagan wrote on Rotten Tomatoes. “I’m glad I didn’t bring my kids. They may not have noticed, but you never know.”

Rod Simpson Tweeted, “Hilarious watermark halfway through. I don’t want to spoil it.”

All movies already use a discreet watermark for determining where bootlegged movies were filmed, but this watermark was not done on purpose. Someone played a prank on Disney, and they will find out who is the culprit.

Disney is aware of the situation and issued an apology: “We apologize to those offended by the tasteless watermark. It was not done on purpose and those responsible will be held accountable. It was an act of terrorism against film and we will respond will the full might of Disney Corporation. We wish everyone a Happy Holiday.”

Some viewers are now trying to find theatres where the watermark is present so they can see it for themselves. New copies are being sent to theatres, so you better hurry up.

Attack of the Tarantino

Hateful Eight director Quentin Tarantino has been at odds with Disney after they heavy handedly pushed his movie of the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. Tarantino has accused Disney of extortion in the booking of the theatre.

The iconic Southern California theater on Sunset Boulevard already has a 70mm projector that Tarantino shot the film for and the Hateful Eight already had a two-week schedule with the theatre. The Cinerama Dome, now owned by Arclight Theatres, is scheduled to show Stars for the two weeks before Christmas, and then Hateful Eight would play. According to Tarantino, Disney extorted Arclight telling them they could not show Star Wars at any of their dozen theaters if they didn’t comply.
