German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as a late Christmas present, sent the United States 50,000 Syrian refugees.
Merkel told the New York Times, “We thought America’s motto was ‘Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” so Merry Christmas!
“Steve Jobs was part Syrian, so maybe one of them will create a new iPhone.”
Technically they are all German citizens, and the move was done to show the world solidarity for human rights. However, many on the political right disagree and are outraged by the move.
Fox News Gets Their Freak On
“Outrageous,” exclaimed political commentator Bill O’Reilly. “I’ve had some bad Christmas gifts before, but this is the worst.”
The sincere gift from Germany is not going over well with conservatives. “This is the fourth worst thing Germany has ever done,” said Megyn Kelly. “I blame Obama. He didn’t have to sign for the package, but he did. Will this president sign any unknown package?”
Germany also sent money to help get them started, but concerns still mount.
“Did Germany send us the bad ones? Where are they going to live? Where are they going to work? How do we know anything about them? What is Germany’s game here?” asked Kelly. They sure as Hell aren’t going to live by me. I don’t care if most of them are are orphaned children under the age of six. Have you seen six-year-olds? They are loud, annoying, and always need something. Get a job I say. Kids in China do it all the time.”
Glen Beck said, “Not a funny joke, Germany.”
Conservatives and the xenophobic in Germany are extremely happy with the move.
