Ricky Gervais Signs 7 Year $45 Million Deal To Host Golden Globes

For the first time ever, the Golden Globes has signed a multi-year hosting contract with British comedian Ricky Gervais.

The entertainment award show is giving Gervais $45 million over the next 7 years.

Gervais told Vanity Fair, “With the long-term deal in place, it affords me the flexibility and opportunity to outline a seven-year plan of jokes and bits to raise the television ratings to what we know they can be. It will be hilarious.

“The advertisers will get every penny’s worth.”

The agent for the deal, Scott Boras, said, “The Globes made the right deal in locking Ricky up to a long term deal. No one gets people talking about the potentially very boring awards show than Ricky.

“People turn in to watch him poke fun of millionaires and they love it. It was a great deal all around.”

Several celebrities are threatening to boycott the Golden Globes if Ricky Gervais is allowed to continue hosting. Mel Gibson said, “Send that twat back to England.”

Gervais doesn’t seem to mind. “There is no shortage of celebrities that want to be on TV. They are very insecure by nature and need attention. So if a few celebs don’t show up, a dozen are ready and willing to take their place. It’s like the ISIS army; you can always find a kid willing to die for your cause.”
