New England Patriots tight end Rob ‘Gronk’ Gronkowski fell off the party cruise ship he was hosting.
The Norwegian Cruise Line from Miami to the Bahamas was going according to plan; people were dancing, drinking, music playing when Gronk was dared to walk around the safety rail outlining the ship. He practiced on an inboard rail to get a feel for the balance before trying the rail between the ship and ocean.
With a group of fans cheering the NFL pro-bowler on, Gronk jumped up to the rail and secured his balance. He began walking the rail as the cheering crowd grew.
After walking the rail for 50 feet, a wave hit the side of the boat causing Gronk to nearly lose his balance. With the goal of making it another 25 feet, Gronk was not deterred and continued his balancing act with the risk of a 65ft fall to the water below.
With 5 feet left to achieve his goal, a group of women flashed their breast which caught Gronk’s eye. As he stopped to observe the naked breasts, he began to lose his footing on the narrow railing.
A few more woman exposed their breasts and with the distraction, the Super Bowl winner fell off the side of the cruise ship.
Gronk plunged 65 feet into the ocean below as passengers screamed and his friends began to freak out and/or laugh.
“It turned to chaos,” said cruise attendee Matt Morton. “I didn’t know if I should jump in to save him or not. Then I realized he had a better chance of swimming in the ocean and he would probably end up having to save me, not that I would mind. Gronk is the man, he can save me any day.”
The ships crew was notified of a man overboard and an emergency dinghy was lowered into the ocean to find Gronkowski. They found him in very little time and lifted him back onto the cruise liner.
The crowd applauded as Gronk yelled with excitement after the brief ocean adventure.
An hour later Gronk tried balancing the rail again and fell off again. This time, other party goes began to jump off the ship, much to the dismay of the ship’s crew.
A party began in the ocean until the crew notified the police would be notified if they didn’t obey the ship’s and common sense rules.
Overall, the cruise was a success and only 150 people came down with illness during the three-day trip.
