Two days after Seddique Mir Mateen attended a Hillary Clinton event, he was checked into a mental medical facility outside Orlando, Florida. His family said they have been talking him into seeking mental help for several years. The 65-year-old man claimed to be the unofficial president of Pakistan and several other delusions. Trump said, “I bet the Clinton’s had something to do with this. They had to shut him up and killing him would be too obvious. So, they locked him with some mental reason.”
The Clinton campaign did receive some negative feedback after Mateen was spotted sitting behind Clinton in the camera’s view during a recent rally in Florida. His son, Omar, killed 49 people at the Pulse Nightclub last month. Usually, the people campaigns chose to televise are vetted, but a young staffer made a little error in the haste of seating nearly 3,000 people.
Conservatives say this plays right into the Clinton’s playbook. “When you need to distance yourself from or shut someone up, you either end up in the looney house or face down in a swamp,” said Fox News pundit, Sean Hannity. “So, Trumps take on this ‘coincidence’ is dead right. This also shows he has the temperament to be president. He can see through the lies.”
The Mateen family said the Clinton campaign had not contacted them and they have been pushing the father to receive severe psychiatric help for many years. “We are happy he will receive some counseling. He’s been through a lot over the past 20 years,” said cousin Mumar. “Fortunately, insurance will cover some of the cost because it is very expensive. Mental health is overlooked in this country and should be addressed in the presidential campaign.”
Some on the Left say he was coerced into attending the event. It’s most likely Seddique just wandered into the 3,000 person outdoor rally. The family said he walked around that area all the time and got caught up in the event.
