“We don’t want these sit-ins to be shown to the world,” said Ryan. “When the C-SPAN cameras turn off, that’s it; everyone goes home,”
House Democrats used Periscope and Facebook Live to record the sit-in Wednesday that lasted 25 hours. They were protesting the lack of voting on gun control laws but to no avail.
Ryan had the cell phone jammers installed Thursday night which will allow him to turn it off and on when he pleases.
Democrats called the move by the Speaker of the House “ridiculous” and “dictatorshipy.” Fellow Republicans were not sure what a cell phone jammer was but the name “sounded cool.”
