Saudi Arabia Sues NYC For Building World Trade Center Towers

The World Trade Twin Towers were built in 1972 and were credited as being the tallest buildings in the world. New York celebrated their achievement and viewers loved the cities skyline. Then, on a horrific morning September 11th, 2001, three airline jets struck the towers and caused them to implode on themselves. It caused the US invasion into Afghanistan and eventually Iraq.

12 of the plane hijackers came from Saudi Arabia and planned by a former Saudi Arabian citizen. Security experts sorted through information to see who help finance the attacks and the 9/11 Commission said Saudi money was involved but did not link the government directly.

Now, 15 years later, US President Barack Obama vetoed a bill that would allow families to sue the families of the hijackers. Since the Saudi’s are the only ones with money, they will be the target in cart after Congress overrode the veto.

This precedent opened up countries to sue the US government for war crimes. In a shocking preemptive legal battle, Saudi Arabia is suing New York City for building the towers, which they say were ‘obvious targets for terrorists’ especially after the first World Trade Center bombings in 1992.

US courts will throw out the lawsuit, the same way the Saudi courts will throw out lawsuits against them. “This shows how stupid the bill is to begin with,” said Obama. “It was so, so stupid and we are only seeing the beginning o the damage it will cost. Much money and time will be lost from the congresses’ stupidity.”

The Saudi Finance Minister spoke with the BBC to say “They were huge targets that said ‘hit me here’ and we did. Or I mean terrorist did. So 9/11 wouldn’t have happened if New York City didn’t allow the building permits. America brought it on themselves. And now they should pay us money because of a strange law America supported. I don’t know why they would support a ridiculous bill, but they did. Now pay us.”
