Charlotte, NC – Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke was turned away from a Black Lives Matter rally earlier today when he appeared wearing full blackface makeup. According to sources, the hate group leader was met by attendees as he approached the outer reaches of the protest.
“We saw this guy walking up and he looked funny,” said one attendee. “From a distance, it looked like he had a mask on, but as he got closer, we could see the makeup.” Witnesses agreed the Grand Wizard stood out immediately.
“He had paint on his shirt and he didn’t even do his eyes. They were still white,” said one on-looker. “I think it was acrylic paint,” said another. Duke was stopped by a small group of attendees and asked to leave. “He just looked at us and frowned,” said John Hampton who was among the group that intercepted Duke.
The painted Duke drew some boos from the crowd upon his exit, but most agreed his departure was uneventful. “He kinda just left. I think he knew he wasn’t fooling anyone.” Asked why he tried to enter the rally, Duke responded, “I wanted to see what all this fuss is about.”
