One and a half million students could be debt free at the same cost of four Trump bankruptcies. “That’s the law and I’m not one of those losers with student debt,” said Trump. “Or they are too dumb to play the system. Plus, the courts love me. I win all the time.”
Student debt can not be resolved during bankruptcy according to current law. “It’s not my fault students are suckers or their parents are too poor to pay for college,” said Trump. “So I would not repeal that part of the bankruptcy law, but the rest of the law is very, very good.”
Bankruptcy expert told MSNBC, “Just one of his writedowns was for one billion dollars, most of the money wasn’t his anyway, but he could take advantage of the tax law. And this wasn’t even part of his bankruptcy.
“His many bankruptcies later on, allowed him to keep tremendous wealth and all of his property. That is not what the law was supposed to do but is how it works with a bunch of smart lawyers in the room.”
“Students will have to pay their debt. It’s that simply in the law. In fact, it’s the only thing simple in the law, so that sucks.”
