WikiLeaks reported that the Clinton campaign had headed the recount call in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The e-mails begin as early as election night with Clinton staffers telling Stein to begin looking into vote counts of those key states that allowed Trump to win the electoral college.
“We knew she’d win the popular vote easily,” said a Stein staffer. “But we knew she might need help in Pennsylvania. And they contacted us right away to devise a plan.”
Clinton sent Stein a detailed plan to raise the money and hire the right attorneys to fight the voting record of those three states. In return, the Clinton Foundation would give Stein a prominent role with a seven figure salary and large signing bonus.
The money was raised to file the recounts and lawyers. “It’s been in motion since November 8th,” said the staffer. “It was our ‘Last Stand’ scenario without it looking like Hillary was involved.”
