Paul Ryan As House Speaker: “I’ll Turn Congress On Its Fucking Head”

As former House Speaker John Bohner surprisingly stepped down from his post, the Republicans looked for a leader to fill his spot. With a majority backing, they have nominated Paul Ryan, the Republican representative from Wisconsin. The vote in Congress will take place October 28th.

Rep. Ryan has been serving on the powerful Ways and Means Committee and was also Mitt Romney’s running mate in the 2012 Presidential elections.

On Friday, he told a Milwaukee radio station WSTF, “I’ll turn Congress on its fucking head as House Speaker.” The radio host kindly reminded Ryan that he can’t swear on public airwaves to which he replied, “Sorry, I’m just so fucking excited.”

As moderate Republicans go in Congress, Ryan is painfully one of them. While he tows the party line, it may be harder than he thinks to come to compromise on many bills scheduled to be heard in the final year of Obama’s administration.

“I’m probably the least crazy Republican they could pick. The country still votes us Republicans into office and I have no idea why. So I’ll now be the third most powerful person in the world. Suck on that and go Packers.”
