After several off-field incidents, the Los Angeles Dodgers have traded 24-year-old outfielder Yasiel Puig to the Miami Marlins for 30 water coolers. The trade was mostly to get rid of his presence from the Dodger locker room where several players didn’t like him. No team was willing to trade players for the often hurt but talented Cuban player, but Miami offered to pick up the rest of his $34 million contract in exchange for the water coolers.

Puig will also be managed by former Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, who recently agreed to a 3 year deal with the Marlins.

Dodgers President Andrew Friedman had been looking to trade Puig, but offers were nonexistent. “We tried and this was the best deal we could find. I hate to say he was only worth 30 water coolers, but that’s the reality of the situation. The market place never lies.

“It will help replace the 7 he broke during the past season and we got a net gain of 23 water coolers.”

The once highly touted Cuban star has fallen from grace after multiple injuries and several arrests. A new story just leaked about Puig getting into a fight with bouncers at a Miami nightclub, so moving to Miami permanently will be a better fit for the right-hand bat.

Mattingly told ESPN, “I didn’t really want Puig, but I was a pushover in LA and promise to bring that same attitude to Miami. Besides, it’s not like anyone shows up for the games here, it should be a great fit for me. The bars and clubs are open all night, so it should be a great fit for Puig.”
